Beaches

 

Menorca boasts some wonderful beaches, from family orientated beaches to quiet secluded beaches. Most beaches are accessible by car, the smaller secluded beaches by foot.

We have detailed some of the most popular beaches for you.

 

Son Bou

 

Son Bou is home to the islands longest beach. It is a popular spot for families and there are beach bars, water sports and activities available. At the far end of the beach there is a nudist area. There are plenty of restaurants and snack bars located in Son Bou itself, which is a 2 minute walk from the beach. There is also a small aqua park at the Club San Jaime, the beach has disabled access, showers, toilets, litter bins, parasol and sunbed rental and a dedicated water sports area.

CALA GALDANA

Cala Galdana is a lovely little tourist resort. The beach has a beautiful balance of white sand and clear blue waters; it is a great spot for snorkelling!

There is a children’s water slide located to the rear of the beach at one of the restaurants. If you are wanting some relaxation and pampering then the Hotel Audax Spa has a range of treatments available (pre booking necessary!)

CALA MORELL

Cala Morell is a small rocky beach in a quiet area. The area is better known for its prehistoric caves and ancient burial sites.

SANTO TOMAS

Santo Tomas is a tourist area, which is popular with families. It has a large beach which is split into two halves. On the right of the rocks is a large strip of beach which tends to be the nudist area. To the left of the rocks is the family area of the beach. There is a beach bar and restaurant and the resort itself boats a range of bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

ARENAL D'EN CASTELL

Arenal beach is a sheltered horseshoe bay. There are water sports activities available, and also beach bars and restaurants nearby. It is a popular bay for boats and in high season can get quite crowded.

ES GRAU

Es Grau beach is a lovely shallow bay which is popular with families. It is located in a conservation area, and has an inland lake to the rear of the beach. Es Grau itself is a small fishing village with a bar situated on the edge of the beach, 2 restaurants and another small bar.

It is very popular with Menorquin families.

SON PARC

Son Parc is home to the islands only golf course. To the far end of the town is the beach, which is a wide sandy beach with shallow waters. There are a variety of restaurants and bars in the town.

CALA'N PORTER

Cala’n Porter is a popular tourist resort. You will always find something to do and something to keep the children entertained! The beach is situated at the far end of the resort, and is sheltered by cliffs. It is a popular family beach and resort. There are parasols and deck chairs for hire and water sports available. There are a range of snack bars near to the beach and restaurants and bars in the centre of the town.

CALA'N BOSC

Situated south of Ciutadella, this is a popular tourist resort. The beach is a small sandy beach. There us a Marina with a large variety of bars and restaurants, and lots of things to keep you and the whole family entertained. There are play areas for children, and at night there is plenty of entertainment.

BINIBECA / BINIBEQUER

Binibeca has a small popular beach located on the South coast of the island. There are restaurants near by and a marina situated in Binibeca Nou.

CALA TIRANT, PLAYAS DE FORNELLS

Cala Tirant is a situated in the small town of Playas de Fornells. It is a beautiful picturesque town with a small variety of bars and restaurants.

There are botanical gardens and beautiful areas for walking. There is also a small shipwreck located just off the rocks.
